How do I get over my fear of spiders?

Spiders are the only thing I can think of that Im afraid of. I'm not sure to get over it and since I am a male and live in an area with lots of spiders it's embarrassing to be afraid of them around my friends. Here's why I'm afraid...when I was in new jersey I was running in a game of manhunt and I hid in a shed. I was running to the back when I ran into a huge spiderweb. I opened my eyes and two...not one...two HUGE spiders were in front of my face. I hosed myself off and was afraid ever since. I tried to get over it but I just can't. Any suggestions?
